Eating Yu Sheng is a cultural activity that Singaporean Chinese participate during the Chinese New Year. The iconic tossing of of Yu Sheng, otherwise known as “Lo-Hei”, is traditionally served as a shredded vegetable salad with sweet sauce and raw salmon.
For our muslim friends, do you ever want to partake in the activity but the food is not halal? Well, fret not, because we have consolidate a list of halal Yu Sheng in Singapore!
1. Hei Sushi
As the only halal-certified sushi restaurant, Japanese food lovers are not shy from Hei Sushi. Located in Downtown East, the restaurant offers a variety of festive bundles and platters available for dine-in or takeaway this Lunar New Year. Chef Syed has teamed up with Muslim-owned EATERZ Cafe to release a CNY special Yu Sheng! The Halal-certified Yu Sheng comprising of thickly sliced salmon, carrots, white radish, cucumbers, red pickled ginger, red & green yam, crushed roasted peanuts, sesame and drizzled with plum sauce and olive oil. Prices begin from $46 and suitable for 6 Pax and above.

3. The Ramen Stall
Using only the freshest ingredients, the Prosperity Yu Sheng Set is back this Chinese New Year! The Japanese halal-certified restaurant offers two sets of Yu Sheng–the small set (4-6 pax) and the large set (8-12 pax)–priced at $28.80++ and $48.80++ respectively. Consumers who are seeking to elevated their tossing experience may add on a 2-Head Abalone at $48.80++.

4. Orange Clove Catering
Aside from the traditional Lucky Salmon Yu Sheng ($38.80+), Orange Clove Catering offers a customisable Roaring Fortune Yu Sheng that allows you to design the platter according to your choice of characters. Starting from $288, pick your own auspicious animal design or Chinese character.
For major corporate event, companies can toss in unison and to greater heights with the Grand Dragon Yu Sheng, which extends to 88-metres long! Feeling fancy? Opt for a 8-metres long Grand Dragon Yu Sheng for only $2,288.
